Ecology of Care is a neuroqueer collective and ongoing event series centered around community care, harm reduction, mental health and neurodiversity in the context of nightlife and beyond.
We are a trio of rave nerds, who first started working together to help build Unsound’s Mutual Respect initiative. EoC is rooted at the core of our own practices prioritizing accessibility, representation, community-building and collective care.
EoC grew out of our personal experiences and conversations during the Covid-19 pandemic; we shared feelings of separation from our chosen family and dance floors, and a strong disconnect with the majority of the music industry.
Since our creation in 2020, we have collaborated with Unsound Festival, Resident Advisor, Refuge Worldwide, Horst Arts & Music Festival and Nuits Sonores. We’ve curated panels, created festival awareness team structures, hosted workshops, produced radio shows, organized healing spaces and have led multi-day lab programmes.
Our aim is to collaborate with local folks to inspire meaningful discourse centered on mutual aid, care, transformative and abolitionist justice; to foster positive change and to create space and alternative structures for people and communities who are too often left out of the conversation.
